Your real problem is you're not going as long or as hard as you did in "the Room". There's nothing on this earth that burns as many calories as "going live". Believe me, I know. I wrestled in high school and college, and now (40 years later) race triathlons.....
Yes, lean muscle burns a few more calories than fat, but it takes an awful lot of muscle bulk to make any difference. Now, without your teammates to push you, your best bet is the long runs. I discovered that in college when I went out for cross country to get in shape for the season. Once I started distance running, I never had a problem making weight, and I knew if I could make to the third period I was going to win because of superior endurance.

I think you are 100% right except for what I see that happens to many. They build this big furnace plant and then they think they can just fill it up with wood(food) and burn it all up sitting on bottom but it doesn't work that way........you can eat more but you still need to watch it. (IMO) and still need to do the work. There's a lot more to this but I know you get the idea because you experienced it first hand. I have a friend who worked out and became a college linebacker at 215 and was only 5'8" he now weighs 147 and is in top shape, both ways he was top shape.......Just a mr world body at 215 and still looks great at 147.........he shows his pics to kids he coaches to show them what they can do without drugs and working hard both ways. How he ever lost it and maintained it I will never know. But I do know this, I saw it and it can be done. It's all about work ethic and eating. Good luck and have a nice xmas.

Absolutely right Camm.
Lean body weight to fat ratio is in direct correlation with your metabolism (also affected somewhat by age and diet).
The more muscle you have, the bigger the ratio, the better your metabolism.
