Biggest Loser Finale Season 14

Last night my family and I watched the finale of the Biggest Loser and it was fun to watch. I never find that I learn much from these finales but instead it is a celebration of how far the contestants have come in the 12 weeks of the show and the time at home. There was Danni crowned as the big winner by a single pound over Jeff and Gina was the at home winner and was within a pound or two of Danni as well.

It was great seeing the transformation of the people that were there this season. The kids of course are easy to recognize as changed as they get a bit older and I always believe that kids, even though they are still resistant to change will change anyway given the opportunity (more than us adults.

Biggest Loser Finale Season 14The kids sure looked great and they seemed to be so put together compared to most adults. Having a couple kids really makes me excited to see the opportunity that these three kids got even if it was probably way more public than they would have liked.

People like Gina and Pam had a real angry streak going in and once they let go they were not nearly as aggressively defensive as they were before. Joe seemed like the classic big cocky dude at the beginning but was much better at the end and Francelina still had giant hair in the finale.

In fact all the Biggest Losers changed – for the better.

The thing that changed this time and always seems to change is that the contestants start out having had to defend their lifestyle and abilities and choices. By the end of the season they see that these things don’t matter, they don’t have to define themselves in a small little box and instead can decide at anytime that they will change in any way.

Biggest Loser Finale Season 14

How do you feel about that? It makes me cringe personally. Makes me realize how low we all set the bar in life.

We all tend to like to see the lowly Biggest Loser people at the start suffering because we know that they will be victorious in the end and they will change in many ways. The trouble is that sometimes we rely on living their change vicariously through the TV instead of making these changes in ourselves.

So last night Danni won, and when she only beat Joe by 1 pound I was still shaking my head that their are no losers in that group at all. Everyone that came out this season fought through the pain, the eating, the diet changes, and came out the other side as real winners.

This still makes me really excited about this show. There are lots of things behind the scenes that I am sure that we don’t get to see and the fact that people are losing 100 pounds or more in just a few weeks is crazy enough only to be shown on TV and not terribly realistic but that is OK to see.

What I really loved again this season was seeing all of the changes and the inspiration that all of us can make changes at any time in our lives even though we tend not to do what we should.

Quit Smoking With Exercise

One Great way to help you with kicking the legal weed is to quit smoking with exercise. When you decide to stop smoking, you’ll bring on other changes in your life as well. Smoking is a very addictive habit, meaning that it is very hard to quit. There are a lot of changes that take place, although exercise can be a big help to you when you decide to quit.

Try to set a new routine, such as working out or going to the gym. If that isn’t possible, you should try waking up earlier and going for a short walk. If you can turn that walk into a run or a jog, it is going to be very stimulating and the best way that you can start your day.

Quit Smoking With Exercise

Keep in mind that to quit smoking with exercise doesn’t really mean pumping metal. If you don’t have the time to stop by the gym every day, then it isn’t really that big of a problem, as you can always choose to workout at home.

Whether you choose to workout at home or at a gym, you should always remember that regularity is the key. It isn’t getting started that’s the difficult part, it’s sticking to a regular exercise program that is difficult and proves to be stumbling block for most people.

Some people have a great start. They will buy track suits, gym wear, running shoes, and a lot of other gear, so their first day at the gym is almost like a celebration. As the days go by, they find it very difficult to meet the demands and their routine will slow down a lot and finally come to a complete exercise burnout.

One mistake that several people make is choosing the evenings to exercise. If evenings fit your lifestyle, then it’s fine. For most people however, the evening hours are when they are completely pooped. By the evening most of us are drained, and simply too tired for exercise. Therefore, it is always best to set some time aside for exercise in the morning.

In the morning, wake up a half an hour or so earlier, put on your shoes, and hit the road. Most roads are less crowded in the morning and less polluted as well, making it a wonderful and relaxing way to start the day.

Change Beverages to help Quit Smoking

You should also steer clear from the coffee and try tea instead. If you are moving around in the house, try playing music. You can also redecorate your room by adding a few pictures around. When you redecorate, you should get rid of everything that reminds you of smoking.

Plan your day where you’ll have something fun to do at the end of the day. It doesn’t need to be something that involves money, as you don’t want to end up bankrupt. Spending time with family, playing games, or going for a walk with your family are all good activities.

Watching television doesn’t really fit into the list. The reason is because television isn’t something that demands a lot of attention. You can easily do something else while you are watching television.

Stress Reduction to Quit Smoking

You should also make a list of things that build up your stress and try to avoid them. If it isn’t possible, you should try to find out some some ways to bust stress and use them. Whatever you do, you shouldn’t use stress as an excuse to start smoking.

There are many other methods that you can use to beat stress. You can try breathing exercises, mediation, or even music. Another great way to beat stress is using the distressing ball. If you don’t have one or access to one, you can always wiggle your fingers and toes. This too is a great and natural method to beat stress.

Use these tools as a way to cut down and especially if your want to quit smoking with exercise.

SMART Goals

Most beginner dieters, weightlifters, heck any fitness person is impatient to get started and skip the most important step – setting smart goals. As a result, they soon lose focus and motivation. The first burst of energy that starts us on the road to building a great body soon fades away, especially since most beginners quickly wear themselves thin by overtraining. If you do not have clear goals to keep up your motivation at this point, you can easily lose your way.

Creating SMART Goals

So take some time right now to write down your goals. Like any goals that you might set in work or life, your goals in bodybuilding should be S.M.A.R.T. – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely. Let’s look at what each of these smart goals parts means in terms of bodybuilding workouts.

SMART Goal – Specific

SMART Goals

SMART Goals

A specific smart goals is one that clearly says what you want to accomplish, along with how, when and where you will do it. ‘Get a great body’ is not a specific goal. ‘Go to the gym 4 days a week after work and train to build muscle mass’ is a more specific goal.

Even better, say exactly which muscles you will work on which days, and note down your routine. The routine for your bodybuilding workouts will change as you make progress but the overall goal of going to the gym 4 days a week to build muscle mass will remain the same.

SMART Goal –  Measurable

When you are working toward smart goals, it is very important to have some way to measure your progress.

If your goal is going to the gym for bodybuilding workouts 4 days a week, you can easily track that in a diary. But with a goal like ‘get a great body’, there is nothing to measure. So if you want to set goals in terms of the physical result, do it in terms of inches gained or weight that you can lift.

SMART Goal – Attainable

It is important to know when you have reached your smart goals. That way you can plan a reward or celebration, have a sense of achievement and start thinking about your next bodybuilding workouts goal.

This means that the goal itself, as well as your progress toward it, must be something that you can measure and know whether or not you have achieved. So your goal is to go to the gym 4 days a week – but for how long? The rest of your life? If you think that way, you will never be able to congratulate yourself on having achieved the goal. A month would be good for a beginner. Then set a new goal.

SMART Goal –  Realistic

Your smart goals needs to be something that it is possible for you to attain in a reasonable period of time. Remember that goals can change. You do not need to start out with the goal of winning the Mr. Universe contest. If contests are your thing, start with winning your division in a local contest. However, if you believe you can win Mr. Universe, then go for that. It is all a matter of believing you can do it.

SMART Goal – Timely

Whatever type of smart goals you set, it is good to give it a timeframe. Are you going for this year’s contest, next year’s or two years from now? Be specific about how much time you have to achieve your goal, and you will be set for success in any of the beginner bodybuilding workouts that you choose.
