Chelsea set sight on Roma left back to replace Marcos Alonso …

Chelsea is set to bring in Roma left Emerson Palmieri back to Stamford Bridge in a bid to replace Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea is no stranger signing players from Italian League having signed Alonso from Fiorentina and Davide Zappacosta from Torino last summer, the Blues have moved to Serie A again to hunt for a left back.

Chelsea target fails to impress at his club 

Palmieri was one of Roma ‘s best player before he sustained an ACL injury that forced him out of action the Brazilian born  Italian made his debut in the Coppa Italia last month but he is yet to recover his form.

Aleksander Kolarov has seemingly pushed him out of his role, which is why the main reason why the club wants s to sell him and also Roma needs fund to bring back former their former Matteo Politano from Sassuolo according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

OFFICIAL: Rohr signs contract extension – FCNaija

The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday signed a two –year contract extension with Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr.

 NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, explained that Rohr, initially taken on board in July 2016, deserved the extension after qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, even with a match to spare.

“He has done a very good job and when someone does a good job, he gets a reward. We are proud to have taken Mr. Rohr on board and we are delighted to be signing this contract extension with him.”

Rohr, who played as a defender and has coached Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Gabon national teams before landing in Nigeria, expressed joy at the extension of the relationship while insisting that the Super Eagles players and officials must remain level-headed and focused going forward.

NPFL: Tornadoes, Plateau United take top spot – FCNaija

Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United are the early leaders on the Nigeria Professional Football League table after the Match Day 2 games were concluded across the country on Wednesday.

After recording blistering away wins on the opening weekend, Tornadoes and Plateau United followed up with home wins against FC IfeanyiUbah and Rivers United on Wednesday.

While Tornadoes were 2-1 winners over their opponents from Nnewi, defending champions, Plateau United beat Garden City’s Rivers United.

With the perfect start recorded by these two clubs, they are ahead with six points respectively after two games.
