Yaya Toure commends City’s winning mentality – FCNaija

Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure hailed City’s winning mentality, following the last-gasp Carabao Cup semi-final triumph over Bristol City on Tuesday.

Toure bagged 70 minutes under his belt as City left it late at the Etihad with Sergio Aguero coming off the bench to score in injury time to hand Pep Guardiola’s side a first-leg advantage after Kevin De Bruyne had cancelled out Bobby Reid’s first-half penalty.

Man City 2- 1 Bristol: Aguero’s late goal rescues City

Toure credited the victory to his side’s never-say-die attitude, insisting City would have been disappointed with a draw.

“In these kind of games, we have to play two legs to try to win. That’s the most important thing.

“In the end, there was one minute left. When you win games consecutively, it can happen – the kind of games where we draw until the last minute. To continue to score like that is fantastic.

“We have a big mentality. Mentally, we’re very good. We keep going, keep working hard, trying to continue creating chance after chance… We believe in ourselves. All of the lads are doing really well.

“In the next game, we have to win again to try to go to the final. We don’t want to draw the game – we just want to win so we will be more secure.” Toure said as quoted inCity’s website

De Bruyne reveals what Sanchez will bring to Man City – FCNaija

Kevin De Bruyne reveals what Arsenal wantaway star Alexis Sanchez will bring to Manchester City if he eventually comes to Etihad this month.
The 29-year-old came close to sealing a deadline-day move to reunite with Pep Guardiola in the summer, but the deal collapsed.

Sanchez looks like he set to finally get his wish in the winter transfer window with Gabriel Jesus out for two-month with a knee injury as the Premier League leaders are rumour of launching £20m for the Arsenal forward whose contract expires in the summer.

While there has been no official word from either club, De Bruyne appears confident Sanchez will become Manchester City player sooner or later.

“When he comes he will add something to the team,” the Daily Mail quotes the Belgian as saying. “He’s a very good player. Obviously we will see what happens in this transfer period. We don’t have to take care about that anyway.

“If a good player comes to us that is better, if he doesn’t come we do it with the team we have. We are on a good period already, the whole season.”

Sanchez would not be able to play for Manchester City in the Carabao Cup as he played against Doncaster for Arsenal earlier in the season, but he is not cup-tied for the FA Cup and could also be added to Pep Guardiola’s Champions League squad.
