The working relationship between Chelsea and Andreas Christensen is set to continue for a long time to come as the defender has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.

A statement on the official Chelsea website disclosed that the 21-year old who has established himself as an important member of Antonio Conte’s squad this season, making 22 appearances so far and impressing with his assured displays at the centre of defence.

The defender, whose new contract will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2022, said: ‘It feels really good to sign a new contract and I’m just happy to be committed to Chelsea for the future. I’ve played a lot of games, I’m enjoying it at the club and everything is working well.’

Club director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘This contract is reward for the excellent form Andreas has shown in the first half of the season. He showed immense potential when he signed for Chelsea in 2012 and is now enjoying the benefits of the dedication and professionalism he has shown since.

‘After two seasons on loan in Germany we were convinced he was ready to be a part of the squad this season and he has grasped the opportunity with both hands. We are delighted he has chosen to commit his future to Chelsea and we look forward to four-and-a-half more successful years with Andreas at the club.’  

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been linked with a move to Premier League to join Arsenal, according to report.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a fan of the big forward and he has been craving to sign the French forward over the past seasons and has been craving to bring him to the Emirate Stadium.

Benzema has struggled for form this season and has failed to impress at the Bernabeu over the past seasons, he has also suffered a dip in form this season he has only managed four goals in 15 appearances so far.

Real Madrid will consider his sale in the summer, according to Diario Gol and the report further said Los Blancos president Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane have concluded to let Benzema leave and sign a new striker.

Another report in Don Balon also suggested that Real Madrid has offered Benzema to Chelsea and Tottenham in the bid to smoothen the deal to bring Eden Hazard or Harry Kane Bernabeu but the Premier League club rejected the proposal.

Wenger wants the Benzema to replace wantaway Alexis Sanchez who wants to join fellow Manchester City this winter.

However, Don Balon also say that Arsene Wenger is only willing to pay £35m (€40m) for Benzema this summer, despite Perez demanding £53m (€60m).

Real Madrid has contact Eden Hazard’s representatives after the attacker refused to sign a new deal with Chelsea for the second time, according to report.

According to Radio Montecarlo, the La Liga Champions have made contact with the Belgian midfielder’s close circle for a transfer talk to Bernabeu.
