Mourinho takes fresh swipe at Antonio Conte again – FCNaija

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken a fresh swipe at Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after claiming the feud is “over”.

Mourinho and Conte trade insult over the media last week, with the Old Trafford boss claiming he had been left feeling   “contempt”

Mourinho is known for this kind of row, he has taken swipes at the likes of Arsene Wenger, Jurgen Klopp and Rafael Benitez in the past, but confessed he had found no excitement doing so.

“I don’t enjoy (them),”  “When I start (them) I take the responsibilities of that and I’ve started (them) many times.”

Mourinho insisted that Conte was playing a victim in the fallout, saying: “When I don’t start it’s quite funny for me to see other people on the other side acting like victims when they’re not the victims.

“But, really, I don’t enjoy. That’s why for me (the row with Conte) is over.”

Mourinho also spoke about how he restored his relationship with Claudio Ranieri.

When Ranieri was sacked by Leicester in 2017, Mourinho wore the initials ‘CR’ on his top at a press conference, a move Conte recently suggested made him look “fake”.

“Sometimes it’s my fault; sometimes it’s other managers’ fault,” Mourinho added of his arguments.

“In my case, when I think it’s my fault and I should behave in a different way, I’m the first one to apologise, like I did with Ranieri when I had the chance.

“That’s when our relations went from bad to good and from good, to very good because I was man enough to apologise.”

Manchester City will be up against Stoke City in the Premier League at the Old Trafford on Monday night as they look to capitalize on the advantage of Manchester City’s defeat on Sunday by Liverpool.

Messi’s 366th goal breaks smashes Muller’s record – FCNaija

Lionel Messi’s 366th goal at Anoeta on Sunday means the Barcelona talisman has now scored more league goals for a single club than any other player in European history after overtaking Gerd Muller’s record on Sunday evening.

Messi netted the Catalans’ fourth and final goal in a thrilling come-from-behind victory against Real Sociedad, taking his La Liga tally for the Catalan club to 366. The strike takes Messi’s goal tally to 17 for the season, while he has also laid on eight assists, and means he has now scored over four times as many La Liga goals this season as arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo (4).

Sociedad 2-4 Barca: Suarez ends 11 years Anoeta voodoo

That surpasses former Bayern Munich star Muller’s long-standing record, which is across the top five divisions in Europe – England, France, Italy, Spain and Germany – and has stood since 1979.

Messi had equalled the record in his 400th league outing for Barca and broke it against Sociedad with a stunning free-kick from 25 yards. Muller had scored 365 goals in 427 Bundesliga matches between 1964 and 1979.

Sunday’s result means Barca are now 19 points clear of Atletico Madrid in second-place, while Real are, incredibly, 19 points further back.
