Natural Acne Treatments

In my teens and twenties I went through trying every thing I could to get rid of my acne. I used everything from Accutane to Tetracycline to Benzoyl Peroxide and this natural list brings back some memories. All of these things do work, although I have never tried the vinegar, and are a great addition to your daily skin regimen.

Acne suffers usually go out and spend good money on common over-the-counter acne treatment products.

The truth is, most of these products are full of chemicals that can actually slow down the healing of acne, and irritate your skin, causing farther breakouts.

When an acne product has 20 ingredients listed on it, it can be hard to know if one of those ingredients is actually stopping you from having success.

It can be even harder when you can’t pronounce the ingredient, much less know what it is and how it is going to affect your skin.

The very sick thing is that most popular acne treatments are not only much more expensive than common household items, but they also don’t always work as well either. With that in mind…

Natural Acne Treatments

I will list some basic household items that can work wonders on clearing up your skin.

Baking soda

A very cheap cooking ingredient that most people have in their homes already, baking soda can be used as a great scrub. The purpose of a scrub is to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin that can eventually clog pores and lead to acne spots.

To start off, you’ll want to mix a small amount of baking soda with some water for form a paste. Baking soda is very effective as a scrub, so you want to be sure to be extra careful when applying it to your face. Gently massage the paste into your skin for ten to fifteen seconds. Then rinse the baking soda off, and pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Though most people that use vinegar to treat acne use the apple cider form of vinegar, you can also use plain old regular vinegar. Regardless of which type you use, vinegar can be very helpful with it comes to clearing up acne. It can kill off acne causing bacteria, balance your skin’s pH, and absorb extra oil on your skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar is a great natural acne treatmentsStarting with clean, dry skin, apply diluted vinegar (eight parts water to one part vinegar) directly to your skin with a cotton ball, and leave it on. If you want, you can also use a stronger vinegar solution (say, 2 or 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar), and apply it directly to problem areas, rinsing it off after ten minutes.

Lemon or lime juice can also be substituted for vinegar.

Both of these juices are rich in citric acid, and can exfoliate your skin very well, halting the growth of acne spots, as well as fading previous, non-active acne quicker.

Egg Whites

Rich in protein, egg whites can be used as a mask to heal and rebuild your skin. It can also help to absorb excess oil from your skin.

To start off, crack an egg, removing the yolk so that just the egg whites are left behind. Beat these egg whites, and apply them directly to your face. Let it sit for fifteen minutes, and then rinse the egg off.

Oatmeal

oatmeal wash for a natural acne treatmentsAs odd as it may seem, oatmeal can absorb unwanted oil and draw out impurities which reside deep in your skin.

  1. Cook some plain oatmeal like you would for consumption.
  2. Let it cool off, and rub it over your clean skin.
  3. Let it sit for a while, like you would a mask, and then rinse off.

If you do this on a regular basis, you should begin to start noticing results soon.

Tea Tree Oil

Is a commonly used all-natural household antiseptic, which you can pick up at most drugstores or supermarkets. You can apply TTO directly to acne spots to kill bacteria, or, if you strongly dilute it with another oil (such as jojoba oil), over your entire face.

Tea tree gel can be easier to apply than the oil, and many are made for applying over large areas of skin, so they aren’t quite as strong as straight TTO and do not need to be diluted.

Pantothenic Acid (Also known as Vit. B5)

Pantothenic acid can be taken in large quantities for the benefit of acne reduction. B5 works by helping your body to metabolize fats which would otherwise be later turned into sebum (oil) and excreted through the skin.

Small amounts of B5 won’t help though, and it has to be taken several times a day.

To help with acne, you will need to take 2.5 grams of pantothenic acid (the powder form is much easier to take), 4 times per day, for a total of 10 grams per day.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera has been used for many years in kitchens for topical application to burns. Another benefit of aloe is that it can prevent scaring, fade marks and help heal acne spots.

Over the counter acne products, and are much cheaper to use. Since we have only really covered basic acne treatments, you can always take this to another level and take all natural, internal acne treatments.

Acne has been shown numerous times to be very closely affected by the digestive system, so keeping your entire digestive system working as smooth as possible can help reduce acne. I will help give you a basic idea of some all natural products you can take to help clear up acne.

Cucumber, lemon and carrot juice, brewer’s yeast, and active charcoal pills are all capable of helping the digestive system function normally. 10 Habits Of Super Fit People

Sometimes when we try to do something new we look at those that have succeeded before us. A great example of this is when you are trying to get fit.

I find that there are lots of tips and information that is true but also much that is contradictory.

The best thing to do is to try and follow a few very strong rules that people that are successful are already following and then just build up from there. So here are 10 habits of super fit people that will give you a great base to start with.

10 Habits Of Super Fit People

1. Sleep well and wake up naturally. Many fit people arise without an alarm clock feeling energized, rested and hungry. They have set fitness goals and a plan to achieve them.

Sleep is important habit for super fit people

People who are fit fall asleep easier, have more quality sleep and require less sleep than someone who is unfit. Lack of sleep is strongly associated with obesity. Sleeping helps the body repair, rebuild and recover.

2. Get prepared. Super fit people are organized so that they do not have to think about what it will take to get going for food or exercise. They will pack their gym bags the night before, have clothes laid out for exercise, toiletries packed for a shower, clothes for work and an appointment in their planner for physical activity.

They regard their workout appointments as highly as any other business or social commitment.

3. Exercise in the morning. Morning exercisers have the highest compliance rates and are more likely to stick to their program. As the day passes, they have a feeling of accomplishment and pride which is reflected in their food choices, behavior and stress management.

Morning exercise is the best way to start your day and ultimately influence many other positive decisions throughout your day.

4. Plan meals. People who are fit and lean have set eating times, plan their meals around their workouts and know what they are going to eat and when. Initially it takes a little work to figure out healthy meals and snacks, but they do not leave eating to chance.

Finding yourself headed to the buffet or driving through for fast food in a famished state is a formula for disaster.

5. Rebound from setbacks Fit people cope with setbacks. They do not let one missed workout turn into two or three. They get right back to their next workout and use the added rest to work even harder. They also don’t let one slice of pizza or cake derail their efforts.

They move on to the next healthy meal knowing they exercise, sleep and eat well so they can have the occasional indulgence or missed workout without it effecting them negatively.

6. Make lasting lifestyle and behavioral changes. Fit people have become fit over time, not over night. They empower themselves with information about fitness and eating, and adopt one new habit at a time until it’s no longer something they work on, but instead something that is part of their daily routine.

Super fit people have a plan to stay healthy always

7. Separate the psychology of success from self-help snake oil. People who are fit do not fall prey to the quick magical ‘solutions’ to health and wellness. They know living longer, stronger, leaner years is a lifelong process, and they reap the benefits daily.

They know if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

8. Lose and keep it off. Fit people know dieting alone is not enough to achieve long-term fat loss. Exercise plays a large part in keeping pounds off.

With regular exercise, they are likely to keep the off for life.

9. Use positive self talk. People who are fit use positive self-talk. They don’t beat themselves up with negative sayings such as ‘I am fat,’ or ‘I am lazy.’ Instead, they say ‘I am strong,’ ‘I am powerful,’ ‘I nourish my body’ and ‘I am thankful to be moving my body.’

10. Set and accomplish goals. Fit people have a realistic goal in mind when they train. For some, it’s being a certain size or having a particular waste measurement. For others, it’s competing in an event or fund raiser that is near to their heart, like walking for breast cancer or cycling for leukemia.

When one goal is accomplished, another is set and there is a deliberate plan to achieve the result.

Sugar and Hydrogenated Fats – Evil Incarnate

It is never get even more obvious than in the 21st century the earth is brimming with poisons. It’s almost impossible to avoid them, regardless of our best attempts.

The media, joined with the ‘all-knowing experts,’ counsel us to keep away from insecticides, household cleaners, ready-made foods, food additions, chemicals, and gas-guzzling sport use cars.

If it were up to them, we might all be living in the mountains of Montana, growing our own food, drinking aquifer-supplied water, and driving a hybrid vehicle ( or riding a pony ). While this could be the ultimate way to live, sadly for me and you, it’s likely not practicable.

That is the reason why it’s far more significant to build and support our immunological defenses and make healthy decisions when referring to what we eat, what kinds of foods we decide to have in our houses, and which foods we offer for our youngsters.

I don’t want to sound paranoid. And my need isn’t to make you eliminate all the things that are part of our day-to-day lives. I can nevertheless, offer you the following systematic proof and tenets for avoiding what I think to be the most poisonous substances to our bodies, which drain our energy!

Sugar and Hydrogenated Fats

These 2 poisons, which are consumed by the many billions of tons every year, literally drain our psychological and physical energy and infect us like a poison.

Here is a short outline of each and how they adversely affect us : ‘Sugar makes you ill-tempered, hyperactive, and causes early aging…’Sugar is the most consumed substance in the world.

It makes us need more and leaves us cranky when we do not have it. Systematic proof has demonstrated that sugar, in any form, exhausts necessary B vitamins and lowers your body’s resistance to bacteria, viruses, and yeasts.

Sugar makes you irascible, hyperactive, and causes early aging thru a method called glycosylation. And to no surprise, sugar is the number 1 culprit to adult-onset ( Type II ) diabetes, which is sometimes self-induced because of a life charged with sugar.

At about that point, the body isn’t capable of dumping insulin correctly, which becomes a heavy risk factor for heart problems.

The Insulin ‘Roller Coaster’ Ride

I am always trying to stay aware of the Insulin Roller Coaster and here is how it works:

  1. When you eat sugar, it enters your veins and arteries all at the same time, rather than slowly as it might as an element of a whole-food, natural meal.
  2. Now that there’s not enough sugar in your veins, your grey matter senses that you’re in a period of famine and sends a message to the adrenal glands to release adrenaline and cortisol.
  3. Adrenaline releases power from sugar stored in your liver and muscles, and cortisol starts to break down your own muscle bulk into sugar like I shared earlier.

This sequence is named the insulin – adrenaline – cortisol cycle. It is a vicious ‘roller coaster’ ride for your body, and the worst part is that thereafter, it leaves you feeling dozy, cranky, and amazingly, craving rather more refined, sweet foods. So, the cycle starts over again.

As is obvious, it is a downward spiral to poor health and even poorer energy levels.

Hydrogenated Fats

Hydrogenated Fats
Donuts are High in Hydrogenated Fats

We have heard it revealed that we eat too much fat and that fat consumption has risen in the last twenty years, and we are becoming an increasingly over weight country.

Today, more folk are getting the great majority of their fats from ‘man made’ hydrogenated fats and other dangerous polyunsaturated oils like palm and corn oil.

Around twenty, thirty, or fifty years back, folks ate a diet which was composed of more natural fats and oils, for example butter, coconut oil, lard, olive oil, and fat (fats from red beef and lamb).

Now, our diets are polluted with hydrogenated fats. These kinds of fats have been obviously linked to slowing our bodies metabolic processes and have also been proven to cause coronary disease and cancer.

The reason explaining why these fats are especially dangerous to us is perhaps because polyunsaturated and hydrogenated oils have been processed using a method that transforms the molecules (literally restructuring them), that has rendered them damaging. Their new ‘trans molecular structure’ hasn’t, until just recently, been integrated into human physiology and is thus unrecognizable to the body.

Since Hydrogenated Fats introduction into our diets, just in the past 40 years or so, these unhealthy oils have been associated with coronary disease, cancer, and other degenerative defects.

The best examples of a polyunsaturated oil is corn, cottonseed, canola, and vegetable fats

Make no mistake, these harmful fats must be avoided at any price.

By Avoiding Sugar and Hydrogenated Fats, you may

  • Improve concentration and psychological lucidity ( with short term memory )
  • Augment your immunological system,
  • Slow the process of aging, Reduce fat on the stomach area,
  • Eliminate future ‘junk-food’ longings.

The way In which I see it, the most pressing issue is the food industry which flourishes on the sales of sugar and ‘fake’ fat-containing foods.

The food industry have succeeded in brainwashing the general public and suppressing the scientific discoveries that eating whole foods, which contain almost no sugar, and meat and oils, which contain natural saturated fats don’t make a contribution to heart problems.

These more natural food are, in reality, a good way to lift your metabolic rate, stabilize your cholesterol levels, improve your immunological system, and supply energy and structural integrity to every living cell in your body.

To Avoid These Poisons, Here Is What To Do Today

Daily Energy Exercise : Rid Poisons from Your Life

Take ten minutes to check the food labels and ingredients on the foods in your cabinets, fridge, and on the counters in your kitchen.

WHAT To Have A Look For?

  • Any foods that list sugar, dextrose, sucrose, fructose, corn syrup, or maltodextrin as the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd ingredient.
  • These are generally stuff like soda, breakfast cereals, and white-flour products like bread.
  • Any foods that list hydrogenated, partly hydrogenated, or corn, palm, or cottonseed oils. These are sometimes stuff like processed, frozen, and almost all deep-fried foods and even some nourishment bars and most meal replacements / protein drinks.

Make a special trip to the grocery store to pick up items to replace these dangerous harmful foods. Rather than breakfast cereals, use steel cut oats. Rather than white-flour products, use whole-wheat or soy-flour type products.

Simply indoctrinate yourself that you Won’t eat deep-fried foods any longer (like Fries, chips, and so on.). Deep-fried foods and the oils they are cooked in have no nutritive health benefits at all.

Replace your salad dressings and cooking oils with healthy oils like flaxseed oil, olive oil, sesame oil, and walnut oil. Read your labels carefully. Manufacturers are very careful about making an attempt to hide these damaging ingredients.
