Double Chin

Double Chin

Double Chin

I am not sure why I have just started noticing double chin but for some reason this week I began noticing peoples necks and double chins. Now before I create some new fetish I want to qualify this double chin business, I have been watching lifting videos and bodybuilding training and then when I was at the mall I started picturing how people would look if they were huge bodybuilders in their regular clothes instead of bodybuilders in tank tops…what did I see first? Double chins.

It is strange, if you picture people looking differently and there are a lot of people that when they lose the first thing you may notice is that double chin. We watched the biggest loser last month and you would see bigger people that seemed to look 20 years younger after they lost and because these people are always wearing clothes in public you really notice the absence of a double chin.

How do you get rid of Double Chin?

Most of the time we are looking at getting rid of a spare tire or big hips but in actual fact people will see you losing your double chin from your diet and exercise but will say that you look slimmer, sometimes the biggest changes are not what people think they notice but what they expect to see differently.

I know that exercise will not get rid of every ones double chin, sometimes it is just a genetic disposition and we do all know (I hope) that spot reduction is a fallacy but exercise and losing body fat is the best way to rid yourself of a double chin.

Sorry, I know you will go out today and will be noticing every ones double chin now…maybe we will all forget tomorrow but will notice again as the drops off and gets rid of the double chin

What is Hoodia?

I have been seeing a lot of ads and products lately containing Hoodia gordonii that acts as an appetite suppressant. Thought I should post what I have found out about Hoodia gordoni so far. Hoodia is a cactus from Africa that is somewhat endangered, mostly because of the excitement over selling a product that helps people lose here in the west. The cactus has been used by bushman in Africa for centuries as an appetite suppressant during long walks through the deserts.

A few years back Pfizer, the makers of Viagra were looking at the properties of the hoodia cactus to see if the rumors that it could be used as an appetite suppressant were in fact true, Pfizer decided that there was nothing to it and released the rights to the product, looks like a strike against hoodia. Next Unilver who makes soaps and consumer products picked up the hoodia mantle and have been using it in diet shakes which has in turn spurned a mini hoodia rush in the loss industry.

One of the trends that we always see in supplements is that all products try to include the newest popular product. One of the problems these days is that no one really knows what a good dose of hoodia is and in some products that say they have hoodia as one of the ingredients in fact contain no or almost no hoodia.

Does hoodia gordonii work as an appetite suppressant? Leslie Stahl of 60 minutes tried it during an assignment on the product and thought it worked although one person is only anecdotal evidence not real scientific evidence. As far as science is concerned there have been no studies on people and only one study on animals that proved inconclusive.

If you are interested in hoodia after reading this it is probably best to go to a health food store and try to get some almost pure product to try for yourself to see if YOU think that it helps and at least at this point avoid buying products that do two or three things as the confusion will stop you from being able to test the Hoodia gordonii on it’s own merits.

How to choose a gym

If you have not joined a gym yet then this article may give you some ideas on what to look for in how to choose a gym. My personal favorite things to look for are price, comfort, clientele and helpfulness of staff to the people there while you are checking it out. Everyone is attentive to your needs before you have paid, see how they are to people that have been there for a while

It’s the beginning of a new year and resolutions are being carried out with gusto. Getting fit and staying healthy are no doubt at the top of dozens of resolution lists. Joining a gym is a great first step to achieving one’s fitness goals, but with workout facilities popping up like wildfires, choosing the right gym can be a daunting task. However, just asking a few simple questions can make finding the perfect place to work out less of a challenge.

Questions To Ask Joining a Gym

When figuring out how to choose a gym, one should first ask, ” What equipment and amenities will I actually use?” Sure, there are mega-gyms that offer saunas, massage therapy, a lap pool, and rock climbing, but are all of these things what a person really needs in order to pursue a healthy lifestyle?

How to Choose a Gym

In reality, free weights, machines, and cardio equipment are more than adequate to support an effective workout routine. Gyms that are well-equipped, minus the “fluff,” are almost always the more cost effective choice, not to mention less overwhelming.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when first stepping foot in a gym, with all the strange-looking machines and fancy equipment. When choosing a gym, be sure to ask if an orientation (a guided tour on how to properly use the equipment) is available and if it costs extra. Is the orientation in a group setting or is it one-on-one? Finding a gym that provides one-on-one attention along with ongoing monitoring is definitely a big advantage to someone just starting out. Only a few gyms offer such a program at no additional cost, so this is a good way to narrow down your search.
