Conte set to sign Arsenal target as Bakayoko’s replacement – FCNaija

 

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to sign Arsenal’s target Jean-Michael Seri as Tiemoue Bakayoko’s replacement at the Stamford Bridge, according to report.

Conte signed Bakayoko from AS Monaco during the summer and since his £40million move to the London based club, the French international has failed to replicate the form of last season during his time with the Ligue 1 Champions.

Bakayoko has put in a lot of poor performance this season and Conte is seeking to hijack Arsenal’s bid for the Nice midfielder in a bid to replace the former Monaco midfielder, according to The Sun.

Seri, 26 has a £35m buyout clause and the likes of Manchester City and PSG are ready to rival Chelsea for the Ivorian midfielder considering his meagre buyout clause.

Chelsea recently signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley but the Italian tactician still wants to add more depth to his midfield and see Seri as a direct replacement for the under-performing Bakayoko.

Chelsea is set to bring in Roma left Emerson Palmieri back to Stamford Bridge in a bid to replace Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea is no stranger signing players from Italian League having signed Alonso from Fiorentina and Davide Zappacosta from Torino last summer, the Blues have moved to Serie A again to hunt for a left back.

OFFICIAL: Rohr signs contract extension – FCNaija

The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday signed a two –year contract extension with Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr.

 NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, explained that Rohr, initially taken on board in July 2016, deserved the extension after qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, even with a match to spare.

“He has done a very good job and when someone does a good job, he gets a reward. We are proud to have taken Mr. Rohr on board and we are delighted to be signing this contract extension with him.”

Rohr, who played as a defender and has coached Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Gabon national teams before landing in Nigeria, expressed joy at the extension of the relationship while insisting that the Super Eagles players and officials must remain level-headed and focused going forward.
