Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to sign Arsenal’s target Jean-Michael Seri as Tiemoue Bakayoko’s replacement at the Stamford Bridge, according to report.
Conte signed Bakayoko from AS Monaco during the summer and since his £40million move to the London based club, the French international has failed to replicate the form of last season during his time with the Ligue 1 Champions.Angry Conte slams VAR over Willian penalty no-show
Bakayoko has put in a lot of poor performance this season and Conte is seeking to hijack Arsenal’s bid for the Nice midfielder in a bid to replace the former Monaco midfielder, according to The Sun.
Seri, 26 has a £35m buyout clause and the likes of Manchester City and PSG are ready to rival Chelsea for the Ivorian midfielder considering his meagre buyout clause. Chelsea recently signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley but the Italian tactician still wants to add more depth to his midfield and see Seri as a direct replacement for the under-performing Bakayoko.
