Who is Dolvett Quince?

A couple of weeks ago the people at the Biggest Loser announced that Dolvett Quince would be joining Anna Kournikova and Bob Harper on the the Biggest Loser this season as one of the new trainers. I had to ask myself who is Dolvett Quince? So I looked around.

Who is Dolvett Quince?

Well Dolvett is a trainer with a personal fitness gym in Atlanta Georgia and after looking around a bit (I love Google) I was able to figure out that he is in fact a very popular person in the Atlanta social scene. Also Dolvett Quince is also the creator of  Me and My Chair – a workout video that is based completely around strengthening and toning your body using nothing but a chair.

Dolvett Quince Training Philosophy

Dolvett is only the 7th trainer in the hostory of the Biggest Loser so what can we expect from him? In interviews so far Dolvett has said that he will be tough but fair. We can take this to mean I would expect that he will be less intense than Jillian Michaels was but at the same time a very imposing guy in the gym. Being from a personal training 1 on 1 background we should expect him to understand the emotions going through people as they lose a lot of weight.

“I think in the process of training you develop your muscles and challenge yourself. Those endorphins are being built in your body and that can bring about a lot of emotion and people tend to vent,” he explained.

“During the training process you’ll see a lot of tears, some laughing, even some anger. It’s my job to be there for that person, not only as a trainer but as a friend in a lot of ways.”

Quince added: “That is why it is personal training. You want to be personal with that individual and make sure you are there for them and help them progress and get through those things.”

When do we Get to Meet Dolvett Quince?

Biggest Loser is Back soon. The new season of Biggest Loser is starting just next week on September 20th on NBC with new trainer Anna Kournikova, Dolvett Quince, and Bob Harper. Then we finally get a real answer to who is Dolvett Quince?

Take The Stress Factor Out Of Aging

Stress – that anxious feeling you get when your boss is breathing down your neck, the traffic is bumper to bumper, and the “to do” list at home is piling up. But stress can also be felt from positive changes such as a job promotion, your wedding, or a move. Either way, the stress you feel can have a negative impact on how well you age, especially if the stress is ongoing and not dealt with.

Stress does take a toll on your physical body, but to make matters worse, some studies suggest that continual stress hastens the aging of your brain as well.

What, then, can you do? Everyone has stress, but there are ways to cope with it in a positive way. If you boil it down, you need to move from a stressed-state to a feel-good state as early and as often as you can.

Exercise is a huge-stress reliever and anti-aging weapon that’s good to have in your cache. Exercising can release endorphins that make you feel better. Going for a brisk walk or hitting the gym also allows you to step away from your problems and perhaps come up with workable solutions. Coming up with solutions helps you feel in control, rather than a victim.

Laughter really is the best medicine. Think about how you feel after you laugh – relieved and relaxed. Laughing helps you put things in prospective, especially negative things you may have worried about to the point where they were blown up to a disproportionate level of stress. Cracking jokes in the middle of an argument can diffuse the argument and the stress.

Make it a habit to pamper yourself with what feels good as often as you can. It might be a candlelit dinner, a night out on the town, a bubble bath, dancing with your honey, or a massage.

Take regular vacations. It may seem like you never have time for a vacation, but take one anyway. You need time to recharge; this will actually make you more productive when you get back to work. Maybe you don’t have a week to spare or can’t afford to go anywhere exotic, so take a weekend and get out of town to someplace relaxing.

Get rid of long-term stress. It may take a lot of courage to make any big changes that are required to get rid of ongoing stress so consider getting outside help. Maybe you need a mediator, friend, counselor, attorney, financial advisor or real estate agent to see you through it.

Stress is not something you can erase from your life, and indeed it’s the body’s natural response to danger, but there are positive ways you can deal with stress so it doesn’t age you prematurely.

Lower Your Stress With These Tips

Not all stress is created equal. You can feel stress from work, home, family, friends, and yourself, but you can also experience stress from winning the lottery and moving into your new mansion. Long term stress, however, can even contribute to health problems if not dealt with.

While it is normal to have some stress, most of us tend to have too much of it. Here are some suggestions for relieving your stress. What is relaxing to one person may not be so relaxing to another, so use the techniques that appeal to you.

1. Laugh – What makes you laugh? Your puppy, a funny movie, a comedy routine? Make some time to laugh; it can be an instant stress reliever.

2. Exercise – Perhaps a brisk walk in the park or a game of tennis with a good friend. Fire up those endorphins while enjoying nature or companionship.

3. Massage – See a professional. Better yet, have one come to your home. If you can’t afford it, get a 15 minute shoulder massage at the mall or coax your spouse into doing it.

4. Music – A fast beat can make you dance, and it’s hard to feel stressed while you’re dancing. At the other end of the spectrum, calm music will help you feel calm.

5. Discussion – Talk out your problems with the people who can help you solve your problems, whether it be your spouse who IS the problem or a professional who can give you coping methods.

6. Yoga – This combines several stress relieving modalities including breathing, meditation, and stretching.

7. No – Learning to say no to people and situations will help you to stop heaping so much on your plate. Step back and look at your 24 hours and decide where you want your priorities to lie. Weed out everything else.

8. Deep-breathing – Breathing deep can bring quick relief from an immediate stressful situation and allows you to focus. Plus it oxygenates the blood.

9. Entertainment – Let others take the stress on their shoulders as they entertain you. Get out of the house or office, and away from the stress and take in a movie, a nice restaurant dinner, a tour of the city, or a concert.

10 – Journal – If you don’t want to talk about it then write about it. Keeping a journal of your concerns and stresses will help you get a clearer picture of your issues and might help you come up with a plan to get to a place of less stress.

Even if you can’t remove all the stress in your world, you can certainly lower your stress levels when you try some of these tips.
