Top 5 Women’s Health Tips

Many women are busy taking care of the family, work, and other things that they tend to forget about their own health and wellness. If you are one to take your health for granted then it’s time to start prioritizing your health just like you do other important aspects of your life. Living a healthy lifestyle will help you function at a higher level so that you can do all the things you have to do that much easier, faster, and better.

Top 5 Women’s Health Tips

1. Create a workout plan that works for you. Women lead different lives and have different needs when it comes to physical health and maintenance. In order for you to stay healthy you must find time to workout. By creating a workout plan that suits your lifestyle you will be able to fit exercise in without missing a beat. Exercise becomes increasingly important as you get older.

2. Maintain a well balanced diet. The saying, “we are what we eat”, is a true and faithful saying. So it is important to opt for a healthier array of foods such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and skip the processed junk food. Having a much healthier diet can do wonders for the body and it can reflect in a woman’s physical appearance, mind and attitude.

3. Get plenty of rest each night. It’s important to prioritize sleep at night because of its healing and reenergizing capabilities. The key is to get the proper amount of sleep on a consistent basis each night. In addition, taking a break once in a while (15-20 minutes will do) can do wonders for the mind and body as well.

4. Protect the skin. As a woman, it is important to take care of your skin. Your skin says a lot about your overall health, therefore, it should be a priority to take good care of it. One of the most effective ways to go about it is to stick to a healthy diet and protect your skin from UV rays by applying moisturizer with sunblock each day and night.

5. Work-Life balance. At the end of a busy week, it’s important to have some time for yourself to unwind and relax. You should always strive to achieve that work-life balance in order to recharge the mind, body, and soul, and to gear up for another busy week ahead. It also helps to use vacation time wisely by going somewhere where you can freely relax and rejuvenate yourself.

Skin Care With Your Budget In Mind

When you think of quality skin care products, you might picture movie stars or heiresses who have beautiful skin because they have the money to spend. After all, good products are expensive, aren’t they? While it’s true that many excellent products can set you back a lot of money, not all products are expensive. The key is to decide which products can be purchased economically and which you’ll want to splurge on.

Here are some ideas on where to spend and where to save:

* Spend your money on cleansers. That way you can get the right cleanser for your skin type. If you don’t use one that fits your skin’s needs, you’ll end up too greasy or too dry, and neither of these conditions are good for your skin.

* Spend your money on eye cream. There are always exceptions, of course, but this is where you get what you pay for. Anti-wrinkle, puffiness and dark circle reduction, and botanicals will help the important eye area.

Skin Care With Your Budget In Mind

* Spend on dual products like moisturizers with sunscreen. Make your skin care products do double duty. It may cost a little extra to find a moisturizer with sunscreen or makeup foundation with sunscreen, but it costs even more to buy them separately.

* Save money on toners. One of the best things you can use is a bottle of Witch Hazel and it is very inexpensive.

* Don’t spend much money on moisturizers for trouble spots. Instead, think about using petroleum jelly. You can use it to soften and smooth cracked heels, hands, elbows, lips and cuticles.

* Don’t spend a lot on sunscreen. Many store brands and lesser known brands compare favorably with the expensive sunscreens. Besides, you should reapply all sunscreen after two hours in the sun anyway.

As you know, skin care products have quite a big range of prices. You’ll probably need to experiment a bit to find the right combination of expensive and inexpensive products that feel right.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you should read the labels. When you compare ingredients, you might notice the same ingredients in two different brands. What’s different is the price tag. Be aware and take some time to read the packaging so you’re not paying extra for the brand’s marketing.

In addition, think about joining a skin care forum where people will not only freely talk about their experiences with different brands, but will also tell you which is the best bang for your buck and where you can find coupons for the products.

Remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Take care of your skin today by always wearing sunscreen and cleaning with a proper cleanser because this can prevent problems with your skin in the future.

Facial Masks with Homemade Ingredients

Facial masks – What are they and why would I want one? At first glance, a facial mask seems to be one of the steps in pampering yourself during a facial. But it’s more than that; masks have a job to do. They revitalize, nourish, refresh, and sooth your skin.

You can buy mask preparations from the store, but why not try making one with homemade ingredients? You will not only know all the ingredients involved and will be able to pronounce them, you will save money as well.

Depending on what ingredients you use, the mask can contain fruit extracts, vitamins, and minerals. You will use different ingredients in your mask depending on what you want – toning, exfoliating, or deep cleaning. Also, take into consideration your skin type and how much time you have to mix the mask ingredients together and leave it on. Keep in mind some masks are drippy and can make a mess. Also, be sure to wash your face before you start so you’re working with a clean surface.

Homemade Facial Masks

Oily Skin
Egg whites, beaten, and about 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice.
Pureed tomatoes with enough flour to make a thin paste.
1 teaspoon lemon juice and oatmeal, blended in the blender.
Applesauce, 1 tablespoon honey, and enough flour to thicken.

Dry Skin
Mashed avocado.
Mashed ripe banana.
Flour and yogurt – creamy consistency, not pasty.
1/2 mashed banana, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoons sour cream.

Scrubs
Brown sugar and enough milk to make a thin paste.
Honey and oats
Baking soda with a small amount of water.

When you’re done, wash off your facial mask with warm water and immediately apply a moisturizer while your skin is still damp. This helps lock in the moisture. If you have some of the mixture leftover, you can apply it to other areas of the skin. The masks for oily skin can help your feet, hands, or elbows.

One last thing… remember all those TV movies you’ve seen where women in bathrobes are relaxing at a spa with cucumbers over their eyes? Well, placing thin cucumber slices over your eyes will help reduce the puffiness of the skin around your eyes. It also gives you an excuse to close your eyes and relax.

A facial mask can give your skin just the boost it needs and you can do them regularly for lasting benefits. There are some for you to try in this article, but there are many more I haven’t listed that can work just as well for rejuvenating and nourishing your skin.
