Green Detox Smoothie

Just made me a green detox smoothie. This thing tastes great and is really easy to make. I used a handful of washed kale, half a can of pinapple, one banana, and one peeled orange.

Although this tastes think and great there is a change I will make next time and that is to freeze the pineapple and the banana or maybe use frozen oranges. The consistency is good but it is not as cold as I would have liked. Sadly my daughter does not like bananas or pineapples so this was not a green detox smoothie for her but it is for me.

Benefits of a Green Detox Smoothie

Kale is super high in Vitamin K (1300% of a daily amount), Vitamin A, and Vitamin C as well as having a lot of digestive abilities.

Pineapple of course is great for helping digestion because it cantains Bromelain. as well as being high in Vitamin C and Manganese, and has many Anti-Inflammatory  Benefits.

Add to this the antioxidants in both bananas and oranges and you can see this green detox smoothie really packs a punch all in one big glass.

Skin Care With Your Budget In Mind

When you think of quality skin care products, you might picture movie stars or heiresses who have beautiful skin because they have the money to spend. After all, good products are expensive, aren’t they? While it’s true that many excellent products can set you back a lot of money, not all products are expensive. The key is to decide which products can be purchased economically and which you’ll want to splurge on.

Here are some ideas on where to spend and where to save:

* Spend your money on cleansers. That way you can get the right cleanser for your skin type. If you don’t use one that fits your skin’s needs, you’ll end up too greasy or too dry, and neither of these conditions are good for your skin.

* Spend your money on eye cream. There are always exceptions, of course, but this is where you get what you pay for. Anti-wrinkle, puffiness and dark circle reduction, and botanicals will help the important eye area.

Skin Care With Your Budget In Mind

* Spend on dual products like moisturizers with sunscreen. Make your skin care products do double duty. It may cost a little extra to find a moisturizer with sunscreen or makeup foundation with sunscreen, but it costs even more to buy them separately.

* Save money on toners. One of the best things you can use is a bottle of Witch Hazel and it is very inexpensive.

* Don’t spend much money on moisturizers for trouble spots. Instead, think about using petroleum jelly. You can use it to soften and smooth cracked heels, hands, elbows, lips and cuticles.

* Don’t spend a lot on sunscreen. Many store brands and lesser known brands compare favorably with the expensive sunscreens. Besides, you should reapply all sunscreen after two hours in the sun anyway.

As you know, skin care products have quite a big range of prices. You’ll probably need to experiment a bit to find the right combination of expensive and inexpensive products that feel right.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you should read the labels. When you compare ingredients, you might notice the same ingredients in two different brands. What’s different is the price tag. Be aware and take some time to read the packaging so you’re not paying extra for the brand’s marketing.

In addition, think about joining a skin care forum where people will not only freely talk about their experiences with different brands, but will also tell you which is the best bang for your buck and where you can find coupons for the products.

Remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Take care of your skin today by always wearing sunscreen and cleaning with a proper cleanser because this can prevent problems with your skin in the future.

Natural Skin Care Recipes

You are probably aware of the dangers of many skin care products from the larger cosmetic companies, with their chemical ingredients that can harm your skin, cause illness and even cause cancer. You know that you need natural ingredients in your skin care creams and other products, but you might wonder if you can simply make everything you need, rather than buying natural skin care creams and products.

The answer is yes and no.

Some skin care products can easily be made at home, and you may find that you want to use natural skin care recipes for some of your skin care needs. However, there are ingredients you simply cannot access for your home recipes, and you will need to decide what you want and need from your skin care regimen, and what you’re going to do yourself and what you’re going to buy.

A few natural skin care recipes you might find useful from your own kitchen include the following:

Instead of spending big bucks on expensive moisturizers that contain harmful chemicals (many of which are banned in certain places around the world (i.e. by the European Union)), or even buying a natural moisturizer, make your own. The essential ingredient in most moisturizers is oil, and olive oil is a cost-effective substitute that feels great and which you probably already have on hand.

When you’re done moisturizing, give yourself a facial with honey and an egg yolk or two (NOT the whites). Simply blend it together, smooth a thin coat on your face and let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes to clean and tighten your facial pores.

One of my favorite natural skin care recipes is the simple exfoliating scrub of baking soda. Yes, baking soda. Simply scrub with it in the shower, scrubbing a little harder in areas with blackheads.

Deodorants are one of the worst offenders in terms of chemical skin care products; this is where you really need natural skin care recipes and I have one. Simply replace your deodorant with a mixture of one part vinegar and one part water. The vinegar will not irritate your skin and is an excellent deodorant. Don’t worry the vinegar smell disappears fast.

What you cannot accomplish through these recipes is boosting collagen and production. You can care for and nourish your skin, and that is important. If you’re looking for something to actually reduce wrinkles and reverse and prevent the effects of aging, you’re probably going to need anti aging skin care products.

But for general skin care needs, these natural skin care recipes can be a great way to avoid chemicals, save money and enjoy doing it yourself.
