Arsenal have reportedly launched a surprise move for Chelsea defender David Luiz who may have fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte.

The Express say Arsenal who have had concerns about their central defence all season are exploring the prospect bringing Luiz across town in January.

The Brazilian was dropped by Antonio Conte at the end of October but then picked up a knee injury which he is now back in training after recovering from.

The Blues believe he will be back to fitness in time for next week’s FA Cup third round tie against Norwich City but he still faces an uncertain future.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea would be willing to sell him to a Premier League rival in which case it could open up a switch to Italian giants Juventus.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool will need to assess the fitness of Mohamed Salah after he sustained a knock during his match-winning performance against Wilfred Ndidi’s Leicester City on Saturday.

Salah grabbed a brace as Liverpool came from behind to beat the Foxes 2-1 at Anfield in their final game of 2017 for his goal No.23 of the season.

Klopp revealed during his his post-match press conference that Salah was limping as he left the field as an 83rd-minute substitute and he will need to be checked by the club’s medical team to see if he can be involved against Burnley in less than 48 hours’ time.

“I don’t know in this moment exactly [what it is], but he was limping. That’s never a good sign, to be honest.

“We have to see what his problem was. We will see what he can do for the next game.” Klopp told the Reds’ official website

Salah’s double against Leicester took his tally to 23 goals in all competitions so far this season, a figure reached in just 29 appearances.

The year 2017 was full of up and downs for Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo but he ended it in style; quitting bachelorhood to marry to his heartthrob, Chioma Nnamani, in Enugu state on Saturday.

It is understood that Omeruo, who is a Chelsea defender but currently on loan at Turkish club Kasimpasa, proposed to Chioma in September.
