It is well known that smoking during pregnancy can harm the baby, but what about breastfeeding and smoking? What are the risks if you continue to smoke while nursing your baby? And if you cannot quit, should you breastfeed at all?

If your pregnancy is stressful for any reason, it may seem like a difficult time to stop smoking. Remind yourself that nicotine is not helping your stress, it is contributing to it.
