Manchester City is set to meet Barcelona asking price for defender Samuel Umtiti, according to reports. The Sun reports that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is set to offer £50 million January bid for the France international.
Guardiola wants to add the defender to the Manchester City squad as he targets the unprecedented Quadruple in the new year.
Umtiti, 24, has the £50m release clause in his Nou Camp contract Manchester United is also craving for the signature of the former Lyon centre back. The centre-back is refusing to consider new contract talks at Barcelona, despite their desperation to hike up his escape clause.
