Low Carb Diet Plan Right For You?

I would assert that without a doubt, the low carb diet plan is the most heavily debated weight loss program ever created. In fact, the intensity with which both sides of the argument are expressed is truly incredible. This article will discuss the pros and cons of the low carb diet lifestyle, weighing in on both sides of the argument and helping you determine if this is the best way for you to reach your goals.

What is  Low Carb Diet?

As most of us are well aware, the “king” of this type of eating plan is the Atkins Diet. On this diet, you go through a series of three phases that gradually increase the amount of carbohydrates you are permitted to include in your diet on a daily basis. The first of these phases is called induction, which limits you to virtually no carbs whatsoever. You are permitted to eat all the animal protein you care to consume, but no bread, pasta, potatoes, sweets, or anything else containing carbs are allowed to pass your lips.

Supporters of this program claim that the induction phase is where the magic happens, while its opponents will tell you that it’s suicidal insanity. This phase is dependent upon your body being thrown into a state of ketosis, where ketones are being expelled in the urine, indicating that your body’s fat is now being used as its preferred source of energy. The result of this is extremely rapid weight loss, healthy or not.

I can tell you from personal experience that this diet is effective. I lost 18 pounds my first 14 days on this program. And I experienced both the positive and negative effects that both sides of the issue continually argue.

Despite what some people may say, I found that my energy levels and overall sense of well-being were improved. I was eating steak, eggs, cheese, and bunless burgers constantly… and my feelings were not those of death that opponents of the low carb diet try to scare you with. I felt good. But I was really bored with my diet, which I thought was a fair trade-off given the weight loss results I was enjoying.

They also say that carbohydrates are the primary fuel source used by the brain, yet I felt no mental or emotional consequences of this diet. What I didn’t enjoy about the diet was the heaviness of the food. Meat, cheese, eggs, cheese, and meat. It was enough to bring a PETA representative to tears! I guess in my soul, it didn’t feel like the right thing to do.

So here’s my conclusion. If you want to lose a crazy amount of weight in a very short period of time, keep yourself energized, and don’t mind being a straight up carnivore in every sense of the word, then a low carb diet may be right up your alley. There are more lenient variations a person can consider, as well. The South Beach Diet is another popular low carb diet that may be easier for you to stick with. If you are interested in a low carb diet then try it out first for a week and see how you like it.

Lose Weight Fast Following Four Steps

It would be an understatement to say that we are living in an era of fast foods take-outs, ready made meals and dishes filled with preservatives and additives. We are a nation always on the go and as a consequence our eating habits have been dramatically altered.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

You can escape becoming a part of the growing statistic of obese people, and offer your body a natural route to losing weight safely and in a healthy manner.

1. Make a list Successful weight loss involves more than changing your dietary habits. You need to find a balance in your mind, body and soul. So pause for a moment and make a list of everything that is preventing you from enjoying your life.

If you suffer from fatigue, memory loss or depression for example, this could be a sign that you are suffering from a vitamin B deficiency, which in turn could be hindering your weight loss.

2. What have you eaten? It is easy to be tempted by quick fix meals, but by eating natural, fresh foods every day you can prevent weight gain.

Give this routine a try and begin feeling the difference of natural weight loss, increased energy levels and the desire to exercise:

  • Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day
  • Swap sugary snacks for a piece of fruit
  • Eat smaller portions: 5 to 6 300 calorie meals a day
  • Chew slower
  • Use natural sweeteners instead of sugar
  • Ensure you receive plenty of sleep
  • Cleanse your body of toxins

3. Exercise One of the easiest ways to improve your quality of life and experience lasting weight loss is to exercise.

Yet it is important to remember that everyone is different. Just because your friend can walk 10 miles a day, does not mean you will be able to do so immediately. You need to exercise at your own fitness levels and gradually build up your routines at a pace that is right for you.

Try starting with a 10 minute walk every day, before slowly building up to 45 minutes. As you exercise more, you will be able to challenge your body further and increase your weight loss successes.

Other good methods include riding a bike, going swimming or doing cardio/strength building exercises. Just remember to make sure that you do routines that interest you. If you enjoy it, you will stay motivated towards doing them every day.

4. Diet Pills Whilst the market may be saturated with many synthetic slimming pills, you can offer your body slimming pills naturally formulated using organic ingredients.

Clinically proven to suppress your appetite, reduce your fat consumption by 20%+ and decrease food cravings, slimming pills can offer you the support you need to take your first step to weight loss. Talk to your family doctor and see if he/she can recommend a pill that will work for you.

Considering a Raw Vegan Diet?: Advice to Help Make the Transition Easily

Are you considering trying a a raw foods diet? Would you like to learn more about the many benefits of this type of diet? Or do you need assistance choosing the right raw food books or other information that can help you to make the changeover easily?

Raw food diets have become more popular in the last few years as many more people want to live their life as balanced as they possibly can while also dropping their weight and increasing their overall appearance.

Moving to a raw foods diet has some amazing health benefits that most people notice almost immediately. These include increasing your energy levels, developing clearer skin and shedding pounds. However, for many, making the switch to eating raw can be very challenging. For starts, transitioning to a raw foods diet calls for mastering a new way of preparing food that no longer relies on cooking it. However, it also means cultivating new tastes and trying out new foods that have dissimilar textures and flavors. There are, however, many tips to help make your transition to a raw foods diet much simpler:

1) Learn the right raw food diet recipes for you. There are a large number of raw foods recipes you can try, but for those making the initial switch, you may have the most success by creating raw recipes that are similar to the cooked foods you like the most. There are raw food recipes for even the most standard “comfort foods” like pizza, chips and burgers. The raw food copies will not be exactly like their cooked counterparts, but they will have enough of a similar flavor to make transitioning process better, and they will also be better for you as well.

2) Be Snack Prepared. For those moving to a raw vegan diet, one of the biggest detractors is often the failure to feel “full” and the desire to snack. This is in part a result of our tendency to overeat at meals (especially in the United States), but you can help remedy this by making sure you prepare plenty of raw vegan diet snacks each day and have them easily available for whenever the snack urge hits.

3) Make the transition slowly. Don’t try switching completely to a raw vegan diet on a single day. Instead gradually transition over a few weeks or even a month, to the diet. Start by exchanging one cooked meal a day with a raw version (plus plenty of raw snacks) and then eventually work up to having all your meals uncooked.

Hopefully these tips will help you be successful when transitioning to a raw vegan diet. For those just beginning on a raw foods diet, you may find the first few days to be the most challenging. Hopefully these tips will help you get past these early difficult days and allow you to move onto a more healthy and energetic life!
