Bill Clinton the Vegan?

I had no idea but just read an article about Bill Clinton and how he switched to a vegan lifestyle.

bill-clintonI am not sure how much you have noticed or if it is just the people and blogs and facebook people I see but it seems like being a vegan is not nearly as crazy as it used to seem.

I remember as a kid people would be vegetarians, mainly just not eating meat or fish, and I used to think of it as unhealthy and very fringe lifestyle. But now, veganism abounds. We have a vegan cookbook at home and the foods, although a little strange, seem to be really good.

Not sure if I am ready to go vegan anytime soon but the whole idea of eating a cleaner diet is very tempting. I still have a lot of room to move in my diet right now. I take in a bit too much fat, I eat some processed foods every single day, I drink coffee, and I have a bit of a sweet tooth.

I really believe that people that are eating a vegan meal plan are on the right track as far as getting healthy goes. There are a lot of problems with North American cattle and chicken farming and the unhealthy additives, steroids, and unclean conditions of having so many animals in a cramped area to bring down fast food prices.

On the other hand I do still have a lot of problem with giving up chicken burgers, steaks, and hamburgers.

I guess just trying a few vegan dishes and cleaning up my diet is the best bet for me right now.

2 Huge Factors That Can Cause Weight To Fluctuate On The Scale

If you often weigh yourself when trying to lose weight, you may have noticed that your weight fluctuates on a daily basis. In fact, your weight in the morning may be completely different from your weight at night. However, it’s usually when there is a gain between one day and another that often makes us sad and frustrated. That doesn’t necessarily mean that your weight loss efforts are wasted. There are several factors that cause weight to fluctuate on the scale.

Water Weight

bathroom-scaleIf you go on a fad diet that involves lots of liquids and a very low calorie diet, you may see very good results initially where you lose many pounds within a single day. This is because what you have lost is not fat, but water. When you eat a regular diet again, water weight is usually gained back.

Several other factors cause one to retain water including dehydration, increased consumption of sodium, as well as menstruation (for women). You can prevent water retention by drinking lots of water and restricting your intake of salt.

Muscle Weight

Often exercise is a big part of a weight loss program, and if it is a big part of yours, chances you will sometimes see a gain in weight displayed on the scale. This is especially true if you frequently incorporate weight training as part of your exercise program. This gain in weight is not because you’ve been slacking off on your diet and putting on fat; instead, it’s possible that you have been putting on muscle.

Muscle is denser than fat, so even if you gain a bit of muscle you will probably see a bigger number on the scale. Don’t worry if this is the case. If you are concerned, use a measuring tape as a supplementary way to track your weight loss progress. If you are losing inches, even though your scale says you’ve gained weight, then it’s probably muscle that you’ve gained!

There may be other factors that lead to weight fluctuations, but these are the main two. So the next time your scale seems to be yo-yoing back and forth, don’t stress about it. If you can’t help stressing about it, then instead of weighing yourself every day, weigh yourself every week to get a more stable picture of how you are doing with your weight loss. In the end, your weekly weight is what matters, and not your daily weight.

Cure-All

MORNINGJUICE Cure All

I like to pretend that raw juice can fix all things in life. It’s like the windex of good health. I was feeling FuNky  this morning, so I pulled down my ol’ juicer friend and got started.

juice Cure All

Do you juice? What are your thoughts on the foam the gathers on top? I rarely drink it. The foam is not my cure-all.

In other news, I finally got my Strong Knees DVD in the mail! That’s gonna happen today. Apparently I have to do it every single day for it to work. I’m not good at doing anything every single day, but goodness I’m tired of having a funky knee from falling on a dog.

And in more other news- I lost 3 pounds last week taking me t0 13 total pounds lost!

myclip Cure All

And more, more other news thank you to those who supported my Wear it Well Spring ecourse. I tell you, putting stuff out in the world is not for the faint of heart. I am a timid mouse who is full of fears and doubts way more than I should ever admit, and just saying to people “hey, I made something, you might like it” makes me want to crawl in a hole. Because, what if they don’t like it?

What if they think I’m a loser who makes ebooks? What if they think my design or writing is bad? What if they don’t get it? What if people will only respect me if I have a “real job”? What if people are tired of me trying to make a living off of my creativity? What if I’m not respected?

What if, what if, what if. Isn’t is all so silly? I want to be more brave and live with the learning process, but it’s not easy. I want to be more graceful. If anyone ever tells you that following a dream or doing something different is easy, they are lying. No one will ever tell you that anyway.

And further more, doing anything, anything at all will raise eyebrows. You might as well do it anyway. So with that said, if you’re at all interested in an ebook filled with 90 pages of style inspiration, Wear it Well is just that. Right now and until the end of March you can pay what you want. Which means  for $5, 10, 13.25, 16, or $28+ you can buy my ebook. And then you can email me and tell me what you liked or didn’t like about it, because I truly want to know. So I can make it even better next time.
