Starvation, suffering, and sacrifice

I keep watching Biggest Loser and get warped into their way of thinking that change has to happen before your eyes and right away. Fortunately none of us are on a TV show to have to lose it right away or get set home instead.

Two days ago I wrote about what we need to eat, yesterday was what to avoid but really as far as eating goes I would never want to choose to live with eating only fruit and veggies and meat. Really we have to figure out how to eat other stuff but not always and in a metered way. That is why I wanted to talk about sacrifice and suffering. But first lets hit on starvation.

Starvation is Not Dieting

I don’t think that any of us want to starve and if you are eating a few times a day, eating small meals that are full of nutrients then we will not starve. Years ago when I was struggling with money my wife asked me what was the worst thing that I was worried about. I told her it was food. I have a very close relationship with food, probably all of us do and she promised that we would not starve, sacrifice anything but food and shelter and everything will work out.

Anyway we have no reason to starve and that is where the suffering and sacrifice come from. If I tell you that you are not allowed to ever have a chocolate chip cookie ever again then you will think of nothing but chocolate chip cookies. So this is not a this or that or a never eat kind of concept but I really do feel that if you want something, be it a cookie or ice cream then you should be able to have a little bit and not have to live in guilt. But on the other hand, I never see a reason to eat a whole tub of ice cream either, there is just no point in that.

What I am really saying that if all our gains or losses are in eating (not true exercise has a lot to do with it as well) then you want to fuel your body with water rich foods. After that make sure that you do that subtle mind change. Food is fuel and candy is just the junk that tastes good. Cheat with just small amounts of food so that you do not crave badly and overdo things. Remember you goal is to eat very healthy and the crappy food you eat, while not good, will not help you in any way.

Tomorrow I want to write more about emotional eating. Even though I touched on emotional eating here there is a lot more to talk about with that.

Biggest Loser TV show episode two




Tonights biggest loser focussed on a few issues. To begin with the people were all encouraged to not cut calories to lose weight. The teams lost a lot of weight the first week and to contiue at that pace there is always a motivation to cut calories so that you can do even better. One of the coaches said the losses would stop because their bodies would stop if they cut back their calories.

Another thing that both teams worked with was their balance. The competition that they had was a balance based competition going across a thin path over water so to mix things up both of the teams had to really work on their balance. Lastly the teams had their weigh in and the men won today even with a one day handicap.

For drama one of the men on the mens team seems to be sabatoging his team by not taking part in the workouts and feeding the team too much food. Possibly the offending member is trying to cut the teams reliance on the woman trainer and keeping himself in the teams good books so that he will be safe when the have to start voting out their own members.

Tow people were injured but continuing tonight. Of course when people this overwieght are pushing themselves as hard as they are in this competition something has to break. We will see how the teams do next week getting themselves over the hump of a tough week this week

They have plans! If you're on a diet which means that when you get off the diet you go back to your old habits that grow in the first place. This has always been my problem. With fat loss for idiots diet you learn to eat enough for most normal foods you already buy, but you learn to eat in the right proportions and combinations right. This is called Calorie Shifting.

There are certain foods to eat to lose weight that are generated in the system idiot proof and I really liked this part because you can still eat enough food that you are accustomed. You do not have to buy special food or something like that. The only problem for me with this was that the portions and the fact that I could not go to McDonalds. McDonalds was my biggest deterrent to weight loss and for those of you who go to McDonalds you're just gonna have to choose between being thin and healthy or fat and tired. Giving up fried McDonalds was soooo hard for me, but the great part is now that my diet and weight is in check I can go out once or twice a month and eats fried average. And to be honest, after you stop eating shit that you do not even want at all. I'll just give you an overview of some of the foods you can eat fat loss for idiots diet.

Cottage cheese (I know most of you will not like it), lots of fruit, fish, pasta, salads, oatmeal, sandwiches of turkey, scrambled eggs and it is d all the more there is no reason yet to go on.

 

Now I'll address another issue here because many people send me emails saying that they already eat healthy foods like that and I know exactly what you feel because I have too! The problem is the transition, timing and combination of foods. And that's what fat loss for idiots diet helped me with the portions were correct and the combination of foods.
